Porto Covo - Stop for lunch at Zé Inácio on your way from Lisbon heading south and enjoy the beautiful nearby beaches such as Praia da Samoqueria

Lagos - Nice day trip (or stay during warmer months) to see the gorgeous rock formations and blue sea

• Praia Dona Ana - Classic Algarve cove, accessible by a short staircase

• Ponta da Piedade - Drive up to this peninsula to catch incredible views of the rugged rock landscape down below and climb down the steps to get a closer look of the cove

Praia de Monte Clérigo - Quiet beach off the road from Aljezur with stunning rock formations and a delicious restaurant: O Sargo
